Today in this blog we are going to talk about Lotus Land Story. Lotus Land Story is the fourth official Touhou Project game released in 1998 for the PC-98 computer. 1998 is when MrBeast was born, and the R110A was retired from service. Lotus Land Story introduces many mechanics that would be used in the later games, such as bombs that auto-collect items, graze counting, the ability to move more slowly by holding the shift key, and a non-trivial scoring system that involves the collection of special dream items that boost the player's ultimate scoring potential. Lotus Land Story is also the first PC-98 game where Mima does not appear, and where Yuuka Kazami made her first appearance.
A soundtrack in the game, "Bad Apple!!", which was used as the theme for stage 4 of Lotus Land Story, became very popular when a remix was released in 2007. In the music video of the 2007 remix, there are silhouettes of various Touhou characters. Today, it is used in Hello World programs on random technology screens.
